In an unprecedented show of unity and determination, thousands of young people, activists, and concerned citizens across Bangladesh today delivered a resounding message to world leaders: “Don’t Sell Our Future.” Under the banner of #GlobalClimateStrike2025, a series of powerful demonstrations unfolded across multiple divisions, spearheaded by Young Climate Action Network (YOUCAN), Fridays For Future – Bangladesh, and their dedicated partners.
While the nation’s capital, Dhaka, witnessed the largest mobilization with over 1,000 youths, activists, and citizens converging at Manik Mia Avenue, the spirit of climate justice resonated far and wide, reaching some of the country’s most vulnerable regions.
Dhaka: The Heart of the Movement In Dhaka, the strike was a vibrant display of youth power, jointly organized by YOUCAN, Fridays For Future – Bangladesh, and ActionAid Bangladesh, alongside an impressive coalition of over 35 youth and civil society organizations. The avenue was transformed into a canvas of protest, featuring impactful climate art, powerful placards, live performances, and impassioned speeches that amplified the voices of communities on the frontlines of the climate crisis. The sheer scale and energy of the Dhaka strike sent a bold, unequivocal message: Act on climate now.

YOUCAN was a key organizer or co-organizer in every division and district mentioned, showcasing its widespread influence and dedication to empowering local youth voices.
