Young Climate Action Network Executive Director Yudhishtir Chandra Biswas Honored with Best Volunteer Award 2024 by VSO Bangladesh
Yudhishtir Chandra Biswas, Executive Director of the Young Climate Action Network (YOUCAN), has been honored with the Best Volunteer Award 2024 at the Sylhet Divisional Level by VSO Bangladesh. This recognition, presented in collaboration with the National Youth Forum and supported by the UK Government in Bangladesh, celebrates his outstanding dedication to climate advocacy and youth empowerment.
The award highlights Yudhishtir’s impactful contributions to advancing sustainable development goals through grassroots mobilization, policy advocacy, and youth leadership. Since founding YOUCAN, he has successfully engaged thousands of young people across Bangladesh in climate action initiatives, fostering awareness, participation, and policy dialogue at multiple levels.
The award ceremony took place at the YWCA auditorium in Mohammadpur, Dhaka, with Khabirul Haque Kamal, Country Director of VSO Bangladesh, serving as the chief guest. Addressing the audience, Mr. Kamal underscored the critical role that volunteers play in shaping inclusive and sustainable development. He emphasized that recognizing volunteer efforts is essential to building resilient communities and advancing national development priorities.
