Migration is often discussed only when a crisis appears on the news. Behind every statistic, however, are people navigating uncertainty, economic pressure, displacement, and the search for dignity across borders. Safe migration is not only about movement. It is about protection, opportunity, policy accountability, and human rights at every stage of the journey.
That is why platforms that bring together government institutions, development partners, civil society, and youth voices remain critically important.
The exhibition “Reimagining Structures and Services Across the Migration Cycle” organized by International Organization for Migration successfully concluded, creating a collaborative space for dialogue on migration across all stages of the migration cycle.
The event brought together key stakeholders, development practitioners, civil society representatives, and the Government of Bangladesh to strengthen discussions around safer, more inclusive, and rights-based migration systems. In a country where migration continues to shape livelihoods, local economies, and family structures, these conversations carry direct social and economic significance.
We are pleased to share that Young Climate Action Network – YOUCAN participated in this important platform through the presence of our Executive Director, Yudhishtir Chandra Biswas, and Deputy Executive Director, Rashed Jia Rana.
Their engagement reflected YOUCAN’s growing commitment to conversations that connect climate vulnerability, youth empowerment, and migration realities. Across Bangladesh, environmental stress, economic uncertainty, and limited opportunities increasingly influence migration decisions, especially among young people and vulnerable communities. Addressing migration therefore requires more than border policies or labour systems alone. It requires coordinated social protection, awareness, community resilience, and inclusive policy dialogue.
During the exhibition, our representatives engaged with diverse actors and contributed to discussions focused on advancing safe, orderly, and regular migration. The platform also offered valuable opportunities for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and partnership-building among organizations working across development and humanitarian sectors.

As migration challenges continue to evolve globally and nationally, YOUCAN believes youth participation and grassroots perspectives must remain part of the conversation. Sustainable solutions can only emerge when policies are informed by the lived experiences of communities directly affected by displacement, labour migration, and climate-related vulnerability.
Through participation in platforms like this, YOUCAN continues working toward a future where migration is safer, more dignified, and more responsive to the realities faced by people on the move.
