YOUCAN participated in the Commonwealth Charter Values and Principles Workshop

The Young Climate Action Network (YOUCAN) is proud to share that our Executive Director and an Executive Member represented the organization at the Commonwealth Charter Values and Principles Workshop, held in Dhaka on 23–24 June 2025.

Organized by the Commonwealth Secretariat in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Bangladesh, the two-day event brought together youth leaders, experts, and stakeholders to promote the values of good governance, peace, gender equality, climate justice, and sustainable development.

Distinguished guests included:

  • Prof. Luis Franceschi, Assistant Secretary-General, Commonwealth Secretariat

  • Prof. Dr. Asif Nazrul, Adviser, Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs

  • Asif Mahmud, Adviser, Ministry of Youth and Sports

Our Executive Director, Yudhishtir Chandra Biswas, actively engaged in high-level discussions, reflecting on the intersections between climate justice and the Commonwealth’s core values. YOUCAN reaffirmed its commitment to amplifying youth voices, especially from the Global South, in shaping a fairer and more sustainable future across Commonwealth nations.

This engagement marks another step in YOUCAN’s journey to ensure youth are not just participants—but changemakers—in global development processes.
